Where to begin?

I’ve thought over and over how to tell you what caused my long hiatus from blogging.  Sometimes life tosses you a curve ball that you just can’t catch.  No matter how high you jump it’s gone.  That’s what happened to our family.  If you are new I can give you the cliff notes version.  If I don’t then this would turn into a book..LOL.  We have two awesome daughters.  I have blogged about them in the past.  You can go back and read up if you want.  You will see Miss Natalie in previous pictures.  She is a shinning light.  She suffered a brain injury when she was 18 mo. old.  I won’t go into that story but know that it changed the course of direction for our family.  Dreams changed, life changed, we changed.  We pressed on with tons of support and love from family and friends.  Life was tough, Natalie, a strong, sweet, brave girl endured way too much.  Due to the brain injury she could not walk, talk, had a g-tube and several other issues.  God is faithful and always provided!  Our family persevered and dealt with alot but we were okay with being different because it gave us an opportunity to share Jesus with others.  We met so many people through the years.  Nurses, aides, therapists, doctors, teachers, friends and helpers that have become dear friends.   Everywhere Natalie went people would comment on her smile or “all that hair.”  She lit up a room!

Natalie had a rough winter.  She always had some kind of cold or chest congestion.  We visited the doctors frequently, it became our norm.  She turned 13 in February and yep, she had a cold.  We really didn’t think too much of it.  We did what we always did.  She was on medicines, breathing treatments, etc.  Not getting better she was admitted to the hospital March 26.  Without going into too much personal detail, Natalie passed away March 28 2013, 6 months ago today.  As I sit and type, tears fall.  Words really can’t express grief and sorrow.  I miss her with my entire being.  I have an empty place in my heart, but Jesus is tending to it.  I know for a fact that Natalie is with HIM and she is healed.  She can walk, talk, eat, sing, dance, jump, leap and more.  No more pain, no more struggles, no more infections, no more wheelchair, no more.  I will meet up with her one day and oh how I look forward to that reunion.  Praise God!  Her memory continues to shine bright for Jesus, she touched so many lives.

So much has happened in the past 6 months.  I hope to walk you down the path that I have been on.  It has been quite a journey.  Some of it has been very rocky, some hilly, some treacherous and some bittersweet.  But my trail guide has been faithful, loving, kind, and true.  The journey  continues and I hope you have on your hiking boots to travel it with me.  There are exciting things going on in my life and I look forward to sharing them with you.   I want this blog to be encouraging and fun.  A place to share, a place to laugh, and a place ponder.  I look forward to the adventure!

Psalm 34:18

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
