But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
A theme has been in my path for a few weeks now. Carrying my cross and denying self. It’s a deep one, a tough one. One that I have been pondering and praying about. What does “dying to self” mean? How do we live the crucified life for Christ?
Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.
This scripture has me thinking alot. What do I need to give up and die to so that Christ will shine in me? I think many Christains take this and think it’s obvious sin, but in reality it is anything that hinders your relationship with Christ. It can be a good thing just not the best thing. It could be a job, hobby, relationship, goal, judgement, pride, critical spirit, envy, sarcasm and so on. Pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal to you where you need to pick up your cross, He will. Then be obedient. God blesses obedience.
The goal is to be different today then what you were yesterday. You want to look back and see growth and maturity. Don’t stay the same. Allow the power of Jesus to change you, to sanctify you and to have you shine for Christ.
Many blessings to you and your families this Easter!
Ps. 34:3 “O magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together.”
