Refueled

I am getting so excited.  I am going to get away and get my “juice box” refilled.  If you haven’t heard of Hearts at Home you need to check them out.  It is a wonderful ministry  for women of all ages in all stages of life.  They are having their national conference next weekend and I am going.

This is not my first one.  I have been two other times and let me tell you, WHOA!  You come back so revived, encouraged and on top of the world.  I love spending time with my friends, talking, crying, praising God and learning from some of the best speakers around.  When thousands of women are singing worship songs in an auditorium…wow it is an awesome sound.  I am definite that God is just smiling from ear to ear listening.

I have signed up for some fun classes.  I try to cross the board with what I pick out.  I chose one on marriage, one on parenting, one on spiritual growth and one with Jill Savage the founder of Hearts at Home.

I can’t wait to come back and tell you all what I experienced.  I have two friends coming with me that have never been.  I love to share in the joy that floods their souls when God moves them.  I pray for this.

I love when God moves me.  I believe he can do this through song, bible teaching, sermons and individuals.  Lately I have been really hearing from the Lord.  From all forms.  In my bible studies, quiet time, through my friends and in songs.  It is like he is up there saying, “Tricia, do you hear me know?”   I am learning to listen and be obedient.  These things are hard.  We are busy.  We have to consciously be in tune with our spiritual selves.  We have to pray without ceasing.

Oh, that busy word.  That words acronym is: Being Under Satan’s Yoke.  We are a busy society.  We are involved in everything and have our children involved in everything.  I know when I was little we could only be in one thing at time.  There was more focus on church and family time.  Now neighbors pull into their drive, put up the garage door, pull in, and put down the garage door.  What happened to talking over the backyard fence? What happened to kids playing outside when it is nice and sunny? What happened to family dinners?  What happened to bbq’s?  I tell ya what happened.  We got to busy.  We have to keep up with the Jone’s (sorry if your last name is Jones,  just a figure of speech)  We are so caught up in ourselves that we can’t reach out to one another.  That is a trap of Satan.  He places all those thoughts in our heads.  Bigger and better, we gotta get it.

I also believe that added to the physical business we can have a mental business.  Satan can allow us to be “relaxing” in the comforts of our own home but keep our mind busy.  He can place all those disturbing thoughts in us.  We are not good enough.  We can’t do this anymore.  I don’t know how to parent and my kids are disrespectful.  This marriage stinks.

This girls is the works of the devil.  He does anything he can to take our focus off of Christ.  He wants us to be depressed and not happy with our lives.  That is his goal.  BE STRONG!!  When those thoughts come and they do to all of us, we need to run to Christ.  We need to be on our knees telling God we need strength, patience, guidance and love.  Tell him to refill your “juice box”  HE CAN!!

I pray that if you have read this and you are struggling with BUSY, you get on your knees.  Praise the Almighty King for his grace and mercy.  Praise him for loving us when we are not lovable.  Praise Him for his forgiveness.  Praise him for giving us his armor to protect ourselves (Ephesians 6: 10-20).  Ask him for strength.  Ask him for peace.  Ask him for joy.  Ask him for love.  Ask him for patience.  Go to him because he is the only thing that can truly fill  and refuel us.

What can I say other than this post has perfect timing for me. I don’t know if I’m suppose to say “Wow!” or “Ouch!”. Thank you for this encouraging post. I am going to encourage others who visit Focus Findings to come read this…it definitely helps to set our focus on the One.
