Welcome to this new adventure I am embarking on.  This is a very new thing for me and will be a learning experience.  I am not techy at all.

I want this blog to be fun, encouraging, inspiring and a place where we can be real.  Let’s take off the many hats that we as women wear and learn from one another.

The other day a dear friend of mine got news that her sister’s brain cancer is back.  This is devastating and I ask that you all pray for this precious family.  Pray that peace, strength, encouragement and healing be given to them.  We know that God is in control.

On that same day my preschooler did a crazy thing, one of those things that make you think ” I gave birth to you?”   The next day I felt that my girlfriend and I deserved a much needed “treat’.  I went to the local grocery store and bought a colossal cupcake.  Okay now this is not your ordinary cupcake.  This thing was huge!!  I walked into her house and told her that I did something crazy.  I pulled that cupcake out and told her we needed a stress reliever.  Now girls, what is better than chocolate smothered in rich icing with a good cup of coffee.  She laughed and later we enjoyed our rich dessert!

So here’s the question, what do you do for your friends when you know they need that stress relief?

Now this was my very first post and I am so excited to see where this blog goes.  I look forward to meeting new people and growing together.  Be patient with me as I learn.  Thanks in advance.

What a truly blessed idea to share chocolate and coffee with a friend in need. I am sure what she appreciated more than anything was your driving over to her home to SHARE it with her! Little notes and cards, emails and phone messages really can encourage someone, but the trip to your friends house just to share even 10 minutes with her is what really is appreciated. You’re a very special person! We’re all lucky to call you a friend.

Although I am not very good at picking up the phone to call my family and friends, or even to make needed appointments, I do pick up the phone and phone a girlfriend when I sense she is overwhelmed. I also will shoot an email if that feels more right. With having 4 kiddos in tow almost all the time, dropping by for visits can add to the stress sometimes. However, if I am physically there with my friend there’s nothing like a good ol’ hug to relay my concern and support.
